Paolo Facchinetti

"...la pittura è la mia solitudine,
ma soprattutto la mia salvezza,
la mia libertà,
dove ancora esistono l'immaginazione,
il sogno, l'alchimia, il rito magico di un segno,
di una forma, di un colore..."
From the beginning his art is characterized by a strong dualism. Abstract art and chromatic-formal research coexist with portraiture and the ability to capture the essence of the subject. The physical-gestural movement of the moment in which the color settles on the canvas is always recognizable and is often a fundamental part of the work.

Since 1972 he has exhibited his works in numerous solo and group exhibitions, alongside participation in national and international art exhibitions.
In 1990 and 1992, at the request of Arti Grafiche Ricordi and Edizioni Del Cappello (Milan), he made works on paper which were then screen-printed and numbered.
He was invited to the 13 × 17 itinerant project, curated by Philippe Daverio and Jean Blanchaert, presented between 2006 and 2007 in Bologna (Church of Santa Cristina), Rome (Studio Mic), Murano - Venice (Berengo Studio), Palermo ( New Montevergini Theater), Francavilla al Mare - Chieti (Michetti Museum), Potenza (Provincial Museum), Milan (Polytechnic), Naples (Church of San Severo al Pendino).
His activity also touches areas not very frequented by an artist, for example in 2007, when he was asked to create the cover of the Requiem album for the rock band Verdena.
In 2008 he is one of the two Italian artists selected at the Plzeň Biennial of Design (Czech Republic).
The Aufbau Verlag publishing house in Berlin will publish the portrait of John Fante in Aufbau Literatur Kalender 2013 and Aufbau Literatur Wochenplaner 2013, a work taken from the Auto Biografie project: a series of 40 portraits exhibited between 2006 and 2007 in many locations including the Orto degli Angeli Cultural Center in Biella, the Florilegio Gallery in Leno (BS) and the Raffaello College in Urbino. A catalog of the exhibition has been published by Libri Aparte with texts by Viola Giacometti and Sara Mazzocchi.
In 2012, the monographic volume Paolo Facchinetti was published, included in the Catalogs of Art series of the Giorgio Mondadori Editorial with texts by Dalmazio Ambrosioni and Virgilio Patarini.
In 2013 he is present with several pages in the volume La via italiana all'Informale included in the Art Catalogs series of Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori.
In 2016, new catalog, Tzimtzum published by Libri Aparte with presentation by Giovanna Brambilla on the occasion of the solo exhibition at the Viamoronisedici / Spazioarte gallery, Bergamo.
