Paolo Facchinetti was born in 1953 in Nembro, where he now lives and works. He began his artistic training at the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts in Bergamo by attending drawing and nude courses under the guidance of Mino Marra; later also the master Cesare Benaglia had a strong importance in the growth of Paolo, who attended his studio and the Valbrembo 77 Artistic Group from 1985 to 1989.

From the beginning his art is characterized by a strong dualism . Abstract art and chromatic-formal research coexist with portraiture and the ability to capture the essence of the subject. The physical-gestural movement of the moment in which the color settles on the canvas is always recognizable and is often a fundamental part of the work.

Since 1972 Paolo Facchinetti has exhibited his works in numerous solo and group exhibitions and participates in national and international art exhibitions. We remember the itinerant project "13 × 17", curated by Philippe Daverio and Jean Blanchaert, (with stops in Bologna, Rome, Venice, Palermo, Potenza, Milan and Naples), the realization in 2007 of the cover of the album "Requiem " for the Italian group Verdena, his participation - one of the two Italian artists selected - at the Biennale del Disegno, in Pilsen (Czech Republic), and the recent exhibitions at the Viamoronisedici Spazio Arte Gallery in Bergamo, at the Trescore Library (BG) and the solo exhibition at the Bernareggi Museum in Bergamo.

On his work have written Dalmazio Ambrosioni, Vitaliano Angelini, Simona Bartolena, Maurizio Bonfanti, Giovanna Brambilla, Maria Beatrice Bonzani, Marco Dell'Oro, Anna Facchinetti, Antonia Abbattista Finochiaro, Viola Giacometti, Sara Mazzocchi, Barbara Mazzoleni, Fernando Noris, Attilio Pizzigoni , Vittorio Raschetti, Beatrice Resmini, Claudio Rota, Giuliano Zanchi, just to name a few.
