Andrea Casillo (Aka. 'KASY') was born on April 24, 1980 in Seriate, Bergamo and nowadays lives in Chiuduno, Bergamo. After compulsory school, he attends the ITIS "Natta" institute in Bergamo, where he completes his studies obtaining the title of Chemistry Diploma.
At the same time as his studies, attracted by the charm of the painted walls of the cities that tell imaginative stories, the dream-desire to approach this figurative art "graffiti art" also known as aerosol art ".
This dream-desire becomes reality when a trivial can of spray enamel becomes a companion of his life: a passion is born.
Among the school desks, in an atmosphere steeped in thoughts and words, the first creations begin to take shape: the walls and desks of the classroom become a sketchbook, a palette on which to direct the spray that, placed in his hands, releases colors and shapes. He begins his artistic career: he paints his graffiti on the walls, becomes a writer and takes the name of "Kasy23".
By handling the agile tool of the spray can with skill and experience, fluid geometric figures emerge that wind in a vortex of movement and color, to simulate imaginary cities, buildings that soar and bend and fantastic creatures that rise in an indefinite three-dimensional space and brilliant. The mistreated use of the spray takes on a whole new value with Andrea Casillo, demonstrating how their use can create harmony of shapes. It is an art truly "contemporary": the technique and practice arise from the artist's immediate and innovative gaze.
He becomes a complete and unique artist in his style when, due to a spinal cord infection, he suffers a motor trauma.
His art becomes his reason for living as it explodes very creative from an inner need to create something of him, tangible to be communicated through shapes and colors.
His relationship with the palette-wall could be defined as controversial as this arises in front of him as an obstacle, but the love for environmental beauty pushes him to overcome every barrier and to transform the monotonous grey of the city and road overbuilding, art that communicates thoughts, ideas, sensations and emotions.
Even painting on canvas is a challenge between his being him and the white of the canvas: for Kasy, white is a provocation that gives new energy and always gives rise to original ideas, from which he lets himself be guided and enthused. When the work is finished he reaches a great one inner peace and pleasant gratification; especially when his work, placed on top of one wall, gives him the feeling of having created it right there, where it was placed.
For Kasy, art is everything that can communicate something and excite. His works are the result of a personal inspiration and an experience that he made himself, face to face with the outside world from which good and evil are lived.
